These 10 organizations will each receive $600! That’s $500 from us PLUS an additional $100 from Frankenmuth Insurance. Frankenmuth Insurance heard about how we are giving away $5,000 to non-profits this fall and they wanted to chip in as well. Instead of $500 going to 10 different non-profits, Frankenmuth Insurance is adding $1,000 to the pot and each of the 10 organizations will end up receiving $600 apiece! We hoped this campaign would encourage others to give back for Giving Tuesday and are thankful that Frankenmuth Insurance offered this generous addition!

Mt. Pleasant Agency, Inc. – Central Insurance and McArthur Insurance Agency are celebrating Giving Tuesday in 2020 by giving away $5,000.

Mt. Pleasant Agency will give $4,000 equally divided between 8 different non-profit organizations; while McArthur Insurance Agency will donate $1,000 split between two non-profits in the Weidman area.

Recipients will be selected after a public voting process.

This campaign was designed because of the awareness that COVID-19 has had a profound impact on non-profit organizations in 2020. Many organizations have had to cancel or postpone major fundraisers that allow them to operate and continue to help people in need.

“When we were looking at the needs of our community and people all over the state, we came up with this idea and are so excited to do something to help,” said Kurt Feight, President of Mt. Pleasant Agency – Central Insurance and McArthur Insurance Agency. “We’re also hoping that this causes a ripple effect and encourages others to consider giving back for Giving Tuesday as well.”

Public voting will take place on Facebook from October 1 through Thanksgiving Day. Mt. Pleasant Agency – Central Insurance plans to announce the recipients on Giving Tuesday, which is December 1, 2020.

Rules:
Public voting will take place on Facebook polls from October 1 through Thanksgiving Day with recipients announced on December 1, 2020. During round one of voting, voters will be able to “write-in” a non-profit organization if it’s not already on the existing list of options. That list may be consolidated for round 2 of voting. At that time, write-ins will not be allowed. The organization must be a federally registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Michigan in order to qualify. 501(c)(3) status will be verified through the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search tool prior to fund distribution. Organizations that do not meet the criteria will be disqualified and/or removed from the poll. If multiples of any one organization are added to the poll, the one(s) with the fewest votes will be removed; duplicate entries will not be combined. Strong consideration will be placed on organizations within central Michigan that help people. Any organization involved in or accused of illegal or criminal activity will be disqualified and removed from the poll.
